This Smooth Can Muffler is engineered and manufactured in a state of the art facility by a world class team of welders and fabricators, using aerospace grade 321 stainless steel, which provides reliable service and resist corrosion in high temperature exhaust system conditions.

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE (AD) AD 68-05-01 FOR EXHAUST SYSTEMS WITH LESS THAN 950 HR. TIME IN SERVICE, 100 HOUR REPETITIVE INSPECTION OF ENTIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND INTERNAL INSPECTION OF MUFFLER.

FOR SYSTEMS WITH 950 HR OR MORE TIME IN SERVICE, THE INSPECTION REQUIREMENT IS EVERY 50 HRS.  PER FAA, AWI’S OVERHAULED PARTS QUALIFY AS ZERO TIME PARTS.

. AD 91-21-09 & PIPER SERVICE BULLETIN 861 FOR INDUCTION SYSTEM ICING,  THE FIX WAS TO USE 2 HEAT EXCHANGER MUFFLERS AND HAVE HEATED AIR ENTER THE ALTERNATE AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM.
