Details
AD 68-05-01 for exhaust systems with less than 950 hours time in service, 100 hour repetitive inspection of entire exhaust system and internal inspection of muffler. For systems with 950 hours or more time in service, the inspection requirement is every 50 hours. Per the FAA, our overhauled parts qualify as zero time parts.
Carburated aircraft use 2 LH mufflers (2 heat exchangers).
Fuel injected aircraft originally used RH (smooth) muffler and LH (heat exchanger) muffler, but not always.
AD 91-21-09 & Piper Service Bulletin 861 for induction system icing, the fix was to use 2 heat exchanger and have heated air enter the alternate air induction system.
